Privacy Policy – Soonday

👋 Overview

Soonday is a personal event and gift-tracking app for iPhone. We built it with a privacy-first mindset: your data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers. This policy explains exactly what information the app accesses and how it is used.

        Soonday does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with third parties.
        There are no analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services included in the app.
      

📇 Contacts Access

Soonday can optionally read your device Contacts to import birthdays automatically. This access is:

Only requested when you tap "Import Birthdays" — never in the background.
Used solely to read contact names and birthday dates.
Never used to read phone numbers, email addresses, photos, or any other contact fields.
Never uploaded, shared, or stored outside of your device.
On iOS 18 and later, you may grant access to only specific contacts using Apple's limited-access picker.

        Imported birthday data is stored only in the app's local database on your device (UserDefaults / app sandbox).
        You can revoke Contacts access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Contacts.
      

🔔 Notifications

Soonday requests permission to send you local push notifications to remind you of upcoming events. These notifications:

Are scheduled entirely on-device using iOS's notification system.
Are never routed through any external server.
Contain only information you have entered into the app.

You can manage or disable notifications at any time in Settings › Notifications › Soonday.

💾 Data Storage

All data you enter — events, gift ideas, and settings — is stored:

Locally on your device only, inside the app's private sandbox.
In Apple's standard UserDefaults / JSON persistence layer.
Accessible only to the Soonday app and any home-screen widget you add.

Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently and irrecoverably deletes all associated data. Soonday does not currently offer iCloud sync; data is not backed up to any cloud service operated by us.

📊 Analytics & Advertising

        Soonday contains no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking
        libraries of any kind. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports,
        or any telemetry data.
      

👶 Children's Privacy

Soonday is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because no data leaves your device, the app is safe for use on family-shared devices.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at the same URL. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
